How to Set Up Category Targeting

Looking to target specific categories with their own Subscribe form? We're here to walk you through the basics!

• This feature is only available to WordPress users.
• Category Targeting is available for Spotlight and Pop Up Subscribe forms; it's not available to use on Click to Subscribe, Manual Placement, or Link Share forms.

Why Use Category Targeting?

By creating and assigning specific Subscribe forms to posts in selected categories, you're able to more specifically target readers on your site and increase the likelihood that they will Subscribe. It also allows you to quickly adjust Subscribe forms for specific posts to attract seasonal traffic.

How to Set Up Category Targeting

Step 1 - Make sure that you are running the latest version of the Grow for WordPress plugin.
If you haven't installed the Grow for WordPress plugin, follow these instructions on how to install the Grow for WordPress plugin.

Step 2 - Navigate to Grow Publisher Portal > Subscribe > Forms and click the Manage Form button on the Subscribe form you'd like to assign to specific post categories.

To target the category (or categories), you can either click the dropdown menu and choose the category from the list or you can type to search for a category.

Once you find the categories you want to target, click the Target button:

After you've selected the categories you want to target for that specific Subscribe Form, you'll see the categories you've targeted appear above the search bar:

Step 3 - Scroll down to the bottom of the Manage Form screen and click Save Changes in the bottom right. Your Spotlight or Pop Up Subscribe form should now populate on the assigned categories!

Can I edit the categories on my Subscribe forms?

Yes, you're able to add or remove categories from your Spotlight and Pop Up Subscribe forms at any time.

I accidentally added the wrong category. How do I remove it?

To remove any category, simply click the "x" on the category chip and that category will no longer be targeted. Don't forget to click Save Changes on the bottom right!

Why don't I see the category I'm looking for in the list?
