Spotlight Subscribe
Spotlight Subscribe lets you build your mailing list while encouraging readers to sign up for Grow. It is an in-content call to action with conversion rates nearly three times as high as traditional methods.
When a user scrolls into view, it darkens the rest of the page, highlighting — or casting a spotlight — on the Subscribe form.
Functionality & Reader Experience
- Spotlight Up Subscribe will display for readers once they scroll 10% down the page. The screen will darken as the Spotlight Subscribe form comes into view and the spotlight effect will fade as the reader scrolls past the form.
- If you have the Inview Effect enabled, your Spotlight Subscribe form will become temporarily sticky as the reader scrolls, keeping the Spotlight Subscribe form on screen just a bit longer. This can boost your conversion rate!
We are always testing to ensure the placement option is providing the best conversion rate!
- If a reader has already subscribed, they will not see Spotlight Subscribe form on the page.
To Test Functionality: You can Log Out of Grow and view a post in an incognito browser window.
- If a Grow user visits your site and is logged in to their Grow account (HURRAH! Authenticated traffic!), they can provide you with their email address via Spotlight Subscribe with just one click.
- If a reader is not logged in to Grow, or does not yet have a Grow account, they will be presented with a window that asks them to log in or create a Grow account after subscribing to your mailing list.

Customization
There are all sorts of ways to make Spotlight Subscribe work for you. You can update the image, copy, and even use different forms across different posts using the Category Targeting settings (powered by the Grow for WordPress plugin).
