If you have been previously using a login solution that provides bookmarking or favoriting options, and are ready to move users into our Grow platform, then this importing tool is for you!
Before you're able to import, you're going to need to request a .CSV file of your data from your current or previous provider.
You'll want to make sure that the .CSV file matches each of your users to their bookmarks. And, to make sure your favorite counts are accurate, you will also want to request that the .CSV has a total favorite count for each specific post.
If you'd like, you can use the following messaging when requesting this information:
Hi <name>,
I'm writing to request a CSV file of my (Slickstream, WP Cultivate, or a custom solutions) users be sent directly to me.
In this file I will need the following:
1 - the CSV file matches each of my users with their bookmarks
2 - the CSV file includes the total favorite counts for each specific post
Thanks so much!
Once you have that file, you can follow these steps-
Step 1: Navigate to your Grow Settings, scroll down to locate Import Data
Step 2: Be sure to confirm that your readers have given you permission to email them, and then upload your CSV. Be sure to save your changes!
Step 3: Once your upload is complete, you can go ahead and run the import
Step 4: Encourage your readers to Sign Up for Grow
For the best Grow success (for your readers and your wallet going forward), we suggest that you Enable Grow Sign Up Call to Action, within your Import Data settings. This helps you collect the required consent to serve personalized ads.
The Grow Sign Up Call to Action will create a pop up when a user favorites or bookmarks your content, encouraging your readers to create a Grow Account and save all of their bookmarks!
Please note that this pop up will take place of the Default Pop-Up (if you have one set up). You'll see this warning within your settings.
Set a Deadline
You can set a deadline for how long this pop up will be running (the deadline defaults to 2 weeks).
7-10 days is a pretty typical return time for most readers, but if you'd like, you can look into your analytics by navigating to your Audience-> Behavior-> Frequency and Recency and see how soon you have readers coming back to your site.
The pop up will stop displaying on the date of the set deadline and will revert back to your default pop up if you have one set.
