What is Recommended Content?

The Recommended Content widgets display personalized content recommendations and give users a better browsing experience.

Grow looks to user behavior and interactions with other Grow features to populate these Recommended Content widgets with items the user is most likely to click on based on the page they’re browsing.

• Logged In User: Recommended Content encourages readers to view personalized recommendations; the intelligence powering those recommendations is based on what they have interacted with before (items they’ve favorited, shared and clicked on) in Grow's features, like Recommended Content, Search, and Automailer.
• Anonymous User (the majority): The Recommended Content widgets will show content that users will most likely want to see based on the behavior of other users who read the same article.

Enabling these features will encourage your readers to spend more time on your site, which only helps to build that personalized relationship!

Placement options for Recommended Content via Grow

Inline Recommended Content 

This option will appear above the recipe/how-to card or at the end of the content if you do not use a recipe/how-to card within the post. This is the placement that has seen the most engagement! 

What's Next on Mobile 

This option will show readers suggested content in the bottom right corner on mobile, encouraging them to click to the next article.

Header Carousel on Desktop

This option will be at the top of the page and will appear as the reader begins to scroll up.

Sidebar Recommended Content

This option will appear in the sidebar after the first screenview (below the fold).

Have content that you don't want to appear in the Recommended Content widgets?

You can exclude specific posts/pages or you can add a Custom URL Filter to remove them from Grow's features!
