When a reader subscribes to your mailing list via a Grow Subscribe form, they may agree to receive interest-based ads.
Based on the reader’s location, they will either:
- Be notified that their personal data will be collected and used by Grow for interest-based advertising.
- Be asked to consent to the collection and use of their personal data by Grow for interest-based advertising.
Collecting first-party data allows Grow to create anonymized identifiers with demographic information. This way advertisers can continue to serve interest-based ads in a privacy-centric way.
Readers in the United States, Canada, and Other Countries (not listed below)
Readers in the United States, Canada, and countries other than those listed in the next section will see a notice as part of the Subscribe form.
They will not need to take any additional action besides entering their email address and clicking the Subscribe button to be added to your mailing list.
You can read the linked Privacy Notice here.
Readers in the United Kingdom, European Union, European Economic Area, Quebec, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, and India
Readers in the United Kingdom, European Union, European Economic Area, Quebec, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, and India will see an opt-in box to consent to the collection and use of their personal data for interest-based advertising on the Subscribe form.
Readers are able to enter and submit their email addresses via Grow’s Subscribe forms without agreeing to the use of their personal data. They can leave the box unchecked and still be added to your mailing list.
You can read the linked Privacy Notice here.
Will this consent messaging impact my subscriber rates?
We have A/B tested this (and all Grow features) and collecting consent in this manner resulted in no significant change in conversion rates.
