When you use Automailer Imports or have the Automailer List setting enabled for your conversion tools to add subscribers to Automailer, some of them may be required to confirm their subscription via double opt-in email before they can receive Automailer emails.
Subscribers located outside of the United States who sign up via Grow conversion tools or who are imported via CSV file without country code data are required to confirm via double opt-in email.
But how can you check if you have unconfirmed subscribers?
Step 1: Download your Automailer Subscribers CSV
Navigate to Grow Publisher Portal > Automailer > Automailer Settings, find the drop down to Download Subscribers.
You can choose to download only New Subscribers (subscribers since your last download) or All Subscribers. A link to your download will appear below the Total Subscribers count and you will receive an email link to the download as well.
Step 2: Check your CSV subscriber data
Your Automailer Subscribers CSV contains the data for all subscribers in your Automailer List. The last two columns are automailerDoubleOptInRequired and automailerDoubleOptedIn.
- automailerDoubleOptInRequired tells you if a subscriber must confirm their subscription via the double opt-in email before they receive Automailer emails.
- automailerDoubleOptedIn tells you if the subscriber has confirmed their subscription via the double opt-in email.
The TRUE and FALSE values in the automailerDoubleOptInRequired and automailerDoubleOptedIn indicate whether or not a subscriber is required to confirm their subscription and if they have or have not confirmed. There are three possible combinations of these columns. They impact a subscriber receiving Automailer emails in the following ways:
- automailerDoubleOptInRequired is TRUE and automailerDoubleOptedIn is TRUE:
This subscriber was required to confirm their subscription via the double opt-in email and did so. They are receiving Automailer emails.
- automailerDoubleOptInRequired is TRUE and automailerDoubleOptedIn is FALSE:
This subscriber was required to confirm their subscription via the double opt-in email and did not do so. They are not receiving Automailer emails.
- automailerDoubleOptInRequired is FALSE and automailerDoubleOptedIn is FALSE:
This subscriber was not required to confirm their subscription via the double opt-in email. They are receiving Automailer emails.
