While most subscribers who no longer wish to receive your Automailer emails will click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of an Automailer email, some may have difficulty doing so or simply request you do it for them. In these cases, you can remove subscribers from your Automailer List in Grow Publisher Portal under Automailer > Automailer Settings.
Removing Subscribers from Your Automailer List
Step 1: Navigate to Automailer > Automailer Settings and scroll down to expand the Advanced Settings.
Step 2: In the Delete Subscribers text box, add the email addresses that wish to be removed from your Automailer List. If you have multiple subscribers who wish to be removed, you can enter multiple email addresses by separating them with commas, spaces, or entering each email address on a new line.
Note: There is a maximum limit of 100 email addresses per deletion. If you have more than 100 email addresses to remove, you will need to do so in batches.
Step 3: Click the Delete Subscribers button below the Delete Subscribers text box.
Step 4: In the confirmation modal that pops up, type Unsubscribe to confirm removing the entered email addresses from your Automailer List. Then click the Delete Subscribers button on the modal.
Note: Removing these email addresses is a permanent action, you will be asked to confirm each batch of email addresses entered to the Delete Subscribers text box.
Step 5: You’ll see a confirmation banner above the Delete Subscribers text box. Your subscribers have been unsubscribed from your Automailer emails!
If you click See more details, Grow will show you your Deleted Subscriber Summary. This will show you any duplicate emails found, which emails were successfully removed, and if there were any emails not found in your Automailer List that could not be removed.
Removing Automailer Unsubscribers from Your Email Service Provider
If you have readers who have unsubscribed from your Automailer emails that also wish to unsubscribe from your Email Service Provider newsletter, you can either sync your Email Service Provider and Automailer unsubscribers or you can download a CSV of Automailer unsubscribers to manually remove from your Email Service Provider.
Step 1: Navigate to Automailer > Automailer Settings and scroll down to expand the Advanced Settings.
Step 2: Click the dropdown menu for Download Unsubscribers, then choose New Unsubscribers or All Unsubscribers and click the export button.
- New Unsubscribers will download a CSV file of email addresses who have unsubscribed from Automailer emails since your last Unsubscriber CSV download.
- All Unsubscribers will download a CSV file of all email addresses who have unsubscribed from Automailer emails for all time.
Step 3: When the CSV file is ready, a download link will appear below the Export Unsubscribers button. Click the download link to download your Unsubscribers CSV file. This link can be used one time.
You will also be emailed a download link for your Unsubscriber CSV. The link in the email is good for 7 days and can be downloaded as many times as you’d like.
Step 4: Take the Unsubscribers CSV to your Email Service Provider and use it to remove email addresses per their instructions.
