While most subscribers who no longer wish to receive your Automailer emails will click the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of an Automailer email, some may have difficulty doing so or simply request you do it for them. In these cases, you can remove subscribers from your Automailer List in Grow Publisher Portal under Automailer > Automailer Settings.
Syncing your Automailer Unsubscribers with Your Email Service Provider
If you have integrated Grow with one of our supported Email Service Providers, you can sync your unsubscribers so readers who unsubscribe from your Automailer emails are also unsubscribed from your Email Service Provider newsletters and vice versa.
Step 1: Navigate to Automailer > Automailer Settings.
Step 2: Click the toggle switch on Sync Unsubscribers.
This syncs your unsubscribers, removing any reader who unsubscribes from your ESP newsletter from your Automailer List or any reader who unsubscribes from your Automailer list from your ESP newsletter.
Enabling Sync Unsubscribers will likely cause your Grow Subscriber count to decrease. This is because your unsubscribes will backfill from your connected Email Service Provider as soon as Sync Unsubscribers is enabled.
Note: Sync Unsubscribers works only with supported Email Service Providers with Grow integrations.
For publishers with FREE Kit, Mailchimp, and MailerLite accounts:
Sync Unsubscribers will remove Automailer Unsubscribers from your FREE Kit, Mailchimp, and MailerLite accounts, but it will not remove your Emailer Service Provider newsletter unsubscribers from your Automailer List.
You are able to manually remove unsubscribers from your Automailer List in batches of up to 100 email addresses. Check out this article for details.
How do I stop Sync Unsubscribers?
If at any time you wish to stop syncing your Automailer and Email Service Provider unsubscribers, you can do so by toggling off the switch by Sync Unsubscribers.
