Email Connect is a feature that allows you to build custom links in your newsletters. It works together with Copy Link so that, with every email you send, you have the opportunity to better monetize every outbound click.
Here's how Email Connect works
When you are linking out to different posts within your newsletter, you'll want to use a link that includes Grow's Copy Link AND the specific Email Service Provider email tag.
Using both lets you identify your existing email subscribers that have been with you all along AND any subscribers that created a Grow account when they signed up, increasing the value of both types of subscribers.
- Currently Email Connect will only identify readers located in the United States.
Identified users can mean higher CPMs and more money in your pocket!
Building the Email Connect Link using the Grow Widget
The Grow widget has a section just for a site’s Grow Publisher Portal users called the Owner Control Panel. In the Owner Control Panel is the Links Toolkit, a feature that allows you to select your Email Service Provider and copy your full Email Connect Link straight from Grow!
First, you’ll need to click the Share button to open the Grow menu. Then, click the Links Toolkit button:
With the Links Toolkit open, you’ll be able to copy the Grow URL to your post just like with the Copy Link button, choose your Email Service Provider, and enter UTM tracking parameters for your campaign (optional):
Once you’ve chosen your Email Service Provider, the Links Toolkit will update the Custom Link to provide a full Email Connect Link: your post’s Grow URL combined with your Email Service Provider’s email tag.
The following Email Service Providers are available in the Links Toolkit:
- Kit
- Mailchimp
- MailerLite
- Flodesk
- BirdSend
- ActiveCampaign
If you do not see your Email Service Provider, you can use the manual process to build Email Connect links for your newsletter.
Click the Copy My Custom Link! Button and paste your Email Connect link into your newsletter!

At this time, we have tested and verified the current Email Service Providers work with Email Connect as intended. We are working to expand Grow’s Email Service Provider integrations. You can always submit a feature request to let us know which Email Service Provider you would like to use with Grow!
Nope! But you’d be missing out on the opportunity to leverage both kinds of subscribers on your list when they engage with your email content.
As you’re building out your newsletters, these links will be used in place of the direct URL that you’d typically copy from the address bar. You can use them in the same way you’d insert any link into your email draft.
Even though it's part of the Owner Control Panel in the Grow widget, anyone listed under a site's Grow Publisher Portal User Permissions has access to the Links Toolkit: Site Owners, Administrators, and Contributors.
