Email Connect is a feature that allows you to build custom links in your newsletters. It works together with Copy Link so that, with every email you send, you have the opportunity to better monetize every outbound click.
Identified users = Higher CPMs and more money in your pocket.
Here's how Email Connect works:
When you are linking out to different posts within your newsletter, you'll want to use a link that includes Grow's Copy Link AND the specific Email Service Provider email tag.
Using both lets you capture your existing email subscribers that have been with you all along AND any subscribers that created a Grow account when they signed up.
Building the Email Connect Link
The Grow URL
Instead of grabbing the link from the address bar in the browser, click the share icon in the Grow widget. When the tool opens, click Copy Link.
The Email Tag
Once you’ve grabbed the Grow URL using the Copy Link button, you’ll combine it with the Email Tag specific to your Email Service Provider.
Email Click IDs for currently supported Email Service Providers are as follows:
- ConvertKit: /e/{{ subscriber.email_address }}
- Mailchimp: /e/*|EMAIL|*
- MailerLite: /e/{$email}
- Flodesk: /e/{{ subscriber.email }}
Combine the Grow URL and Email Tag
When you’re drafting your newsletter, insert the Grow URL you copied and the Email Tag for a complete link that will help you make more out of every outbound click: the Email Connect Link.
Examples of currently supported Email Service Providers are included below:

Frequently Asked Questions About Email Connect
Why isn’t my Email Service Provider listed for use with Email Connect?
At this time, we have tested and verified the current Email Service Providers work with Email Connect as intended. It is possible other Email Service Providers can be used with Email Connect, though they have not been verified.
We are working to expand Grow’s Email Service Provider integrations. You can always submit a feature request to let us know which Email Service Provider you would like to use with Grow!
Why don't my Email Connect links work when I add them to my newsletter?
If you're building your Email Connect links outside of your newsletter editor, there can be issues in the formatting when copying and pasting. This is especially true if you're using a rich text editor.
Building your Email Connect links in a plain text editor or in your newsletter editor directly should result in the correct format.
Do I have to use the Copy Link button and Email Connect?
Nope! But you’d be missing out on the opportunity to leverage both kinds of subscribers – subscribers to your newsletter without Grow accounts and subscribers who have created Grow accounts on any site – on your list when they engage with your email content.
Where do you put these links?
As you’re building out your newsletters, these links will be used in place of the direct URL that you’d typically copy from the address bar. You can use them in the same way you’d insert any link into your email draft.
