Pop Up Subscribe lets you build your mailing list while also encouraging readers to sign up for Grow. It is a traditional call to action, created in a Google-friendly way, to encourage your readers to subscribe to your email list.
How to Enable
To create a new Pop Up Subscribe form, navigate to Grow Publisher Portal > Subscribe > Click the Add New Form button. This will open up the Subscribe Wizard and walk you through creating a new Subscribe form.
Walking Through the Subscribe Wizard
Step 1: Select the Subscribe Form Type. In this case, we are creating a Pop Up Form:
Step 2: This is where you'll start designing your form and can see a live updated preview. You can toggle between desktop and mobile view:
Here's what you'll fill out:
- Form Name: The name displayed in your Grow Publisher Portal Subscribe forms list
- Header: The bolded title the reader will see
- Body: Add any additional details here to help capture your readers
- Button: Your call-to-action

Mobile Form Size:
- Small - floats the Pop Up Subscribe form in the center of the mobile device screen
- Large - fills the mobile device screen
- (Optional) Add A Photo: 1:1 Aspect Ratio is recommended
- (Optional) Enable Automailer Email: This will add Subscribers from this Subscribe form to your Automailer List. Toggle it off if you do not want to send Automailer emails.
Step 3: Choose your Pop Up Trigger Settings for mobile and desktop readers.
The Display Experience determines what reader behavior triggers the appearance of the Pop Up Subscribe form for readers on specific device types. Display Experience can be set for both mobile and desktop devices. They do not have to match. Available display experiences are:
- On Scroll (Default) - Pop Up Subscribe form appears when reader scrolls 25% of the way into content.
- Exit Intent - Pop Up Subscribe form appears when the reader behaves in a way that indicates they intend to leave the site.
- Do Not Show - Hides the Pop Up Subscribe form entirely on the chosen device. Can only be set for one device.
When you’re satisfied with your mobile and desktop Display Experience, click Next.
Step 4: Congratulations - you've set up a new Pop Up Subscribe Form!
Click the Show Me My New Form button to set up any Email Service Provider integrations and/or Category Targeting.
Note: If you'd like a Pop Up Subscribe form to display across all posts on your site, you'll want to select that form in the Default Pop Up Form setting:
