Grow features affecting site speed
AnsweredHey there,
I'm just wondering if there are certain Grow features that might slow down websites when used? I'm failing Core Web Vitals and therefore trying to trim down all my plugins.
I've actually installed Grow manually (without the WordPress plugin) so I've also uninstalled the plugin. But just want to double check and be sure!
Thank you!

Hi Jem,
All third-party scripts will have some impact on your site speed, but Mediavine's scripts are designed to be as lightweight as possible. We specifically design our products with Google in mind and are a Google-certified Publishing Partner.
That being said, there are no known speed issues attributed to specific Grow features. Grow's scripts are deferred from the first screenview and Grow loads in after other elements on your site to ensure page load speeds are not impacted by Grow.
It is normal to see Grow appear in Google PageSpeed Insights tests, both adding blocking time and for a third-party cookie warning. Grow does not impact Core Web Vitals in most cases and, when Grow's total blocking time exceeds 500ms, it is typically due to other elements of a site taking longer to load and delaying Grow's loading time.
