Issue with Recommended Content Display: Rapid Changes and Broken Photos

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the recommended content. When I use the header carousel, “What’s Next” on mobile, the sidebar, and the inline widget, the articles change very quickly and then disappear. When I visit another page, the content appears randomly, changes rapidly, and sometimes shows broken featured photos before disappearing again. Could you please assist with resolving this issue?

    Hey Austin!

    We've seen this issue occur when sites serve images via a CDN, like Jetpack's Site Accelerator. Grow isn't able to grab those images and build Recommended Content bookmarks as intended, leading to the rapid cycling and disappearance of the Recommended Content widgets.

    Grow is specifically looking for the OpenGraph: Image (og:image) metadata to build Recommended Content bookmarks. If you're able to prevent the og:image files from being served through a CDN or to disable serving images through a CDN entirely, it should resolve this issue. You will likely need to clear your site's cache after making the change.
