Grow with Elementor
Pinned Featured AnsweredI have just installed Grow yesterday to begin tracking in hopes of qualifying for Mediavine Journey soon. I noticed that I immediately could not edit any of my posts anymore. I edit everything through Elementor, which will no longer open at all. I figured I would give it a little bit of time and try again, but today Elementor is still not working properly and I cannot edit my posts. I am confident this is an issue with the Grow plugin, as everything was working perfectly before. What can I do? I know I need this tracking to qualify, so I am completely unsure. Thank you.

Hey Caitlin!
It looks like there's a conflict between the Grow for WordPress plugin and the latest version of Elementor. In order to work around this and continue collecting your site's data for your Journey application, you can pivot to a manual installation of Grow, then deactivate the Grow for WordPress plugin.
You can grab your Grow scripts for the installation from Grow Publisher Portal > Grow Settings > Install Grow Scripts. Then, you should be able to add the scripts to your site's header area using the Head & Footer Code plugin.
- You can find instructions for adding the Grow scripts to the Head & Footer Code plugin here, just in case.
The Grow Engineering Team is investigating the conflicts between the Grow for WP Plugin and Elementor and hopefully we'll have that resolved soon. In the meantime, manually installing Grow should get you set for your Journey application!

This seems to have solved the problem. Thank you so much!

Hi, may I use the solution suggested above if I'm already accepted into Journey or will that interrupt reporting? Is there a timeline to resolve the compatibility with elementor?
Thanks!

Hi Jennifer DeBrosse!
You should be able to manually install Grow to use it with Elementor, but you should follow these instructions from the Journey Community to minimize any potential ad downtime. The Grow Engineering Team is actively working on a solution for this conflict, but we do not have an estimated resolution date at this time. We will update this thread when the conflict has been resolved!

Thank you! I had my website maintenance person working on it - she added the script code to the header and deactivated the Grow plugin. Now when I log in to the grow dashboard, I'm seeing the following:
Your ads.txt is missing or out-of-date.
I read through the thread you shared and I don't know what to do next. Is there anyone who can help navigate this step by step?
ETA: when I follow the troubleshoot instructions and click to open on WordPress I get a “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” message.

This Journey Help Article may help your web maintenance person with a manual Ads.txt installation.
If you have more trouble, you can reach out to the Journey Team in the Journey Community. That's the best way to connect with Journey's engineers for troubleshooting!

This is also happening to me. All of a sudden elementor stopped working due to Grow. I need to turn off Grow make elementor work.

Hello Ben, has the conflict between Elementor and the Grow plugin been resolved yet? We'd love to reactivate it again, and would also like to avoid to have to use the work-around. Thanks!

Hi Micha van Dinther!
We haven't resolved the conflict just yet, but that work is scheduled for this week. Hopefully we see that completed very soon!0 -
Hi, any updates?

Hi Jennifer (and all)!
This bug is being actively worked on, but is taking a bit more time to fully resolve than initially anticipated. Hopefully we'll have the fix in place very soon. I will update this thread as soon as the issue is resolved!0 -
I am also following, as this is a problem for my site as well using elementor. I am currently unable to edit any posts or pages with grow installed.

Hi Ben,
Do you know if the same manual installation method works with WPCode Lite? I already have this plugin, and have tried adding the script to header but it doesn't seem to be working. Not sure if it's me or the plugin! :) Have been through the linked support docs in this thread but haven't resolved the issue. Thanks!

Hey Chloe Kempster,
If you are not having success adding Grow's scripts via the WPCode Lite plugin, it's likely not a viable installation method. We specifically recommend using the Head & Footer Code plugin.

I've been approved for Grow but haven't finished setting up Journey yet. Part of this is because I have a 30 day termination window with Monumetric, the other is because I can't seem to update posts with Elementor.
1 - Is it OK to disable the WP Grow plugin to update my posts and re-enable it? Or will this hurt me even though I haven't finished the setup?
2 - Do you have an eta yet on the Elementor x Grow fix?

Hi Lori Tungseth,
There is not currently an ETA for the resolution between Elementor and the Grow for WordPress plugin. Manually installing Grow's scripts using the methods linked above is the best course of action for publishers using Elementor at this time.
If you manually install Grow, you should be safe to disable the Grow for WordPress plugin without impacting your Journey application. For further assistance with Journey, please refer to the Journey Community.

I uninstalled the plugi and I installed everything (script and txt file ) manually as recommended and in the dashboard
everything seems ok but on my site there is no more advertising or grow widget of any kind
Why???0 -
Hi BARBARA,
I do not see Grow's scripts on your site. It looks like when you uninstalled the Grow plugin, you only manually installed your Journey scripts. Installing Grow's scripts manually with these instructions should help.
If you need assistance with your Journey ads, please refer to the Journey Community.
