Using tags with spotlight subscribe?
AnsweredHey guys!
Is there any possible way to use tags for spotlight subscribe instead of categories? I am a travel blogger with specific opt-ins for the cities I write about but those are organized on my site by tags and the main country is the category. I don't want to redo my entire nav for spotlight subscribe (and it wouldn't be great for SEO.)
Thanks!

Hi Taylor!
At this time, it's not possible to use tags to target Spotlight or Pop Up Subscribe forms, just categories with Category Targeting. What you might consider is creating Subscribe Manual Placement forms for those specific destinations and using a reusable block to make adding to to relevant posts easier!

Thanks! With the manual placement, will it work like a spotlight subscribe as in will there be the “spotlight” feature?

Yes! Subscribe Manual Placement forms display as Spotlight Subscribe when placed. The spotlight effect will deploy as long as there isn't a Pop Up Subscribe form set as default or assigned to the post category.

Okay great! I noticed that when I put a manual form in a post, my auto enabled spotlight subscribe does not show on that post. Does it somehow sense there is already a manual placement and not show?

Yes! You're able to override your default Spotlight Subscribe form by placing a Subscribe Manual Placement form in the post.
If you'd like to run both, you can expand the Advanced settings in your Manual Placement form's settings page and toggle on “Allow default form.”0
